Emergence and sloughing off your old form

Have you ever really struggled with something, had a healing experience and then found you couldn’t even remember what the struggle was about? That’s emergence. Emergence happens when past conditions are integrated into a new way of being. You can’t go back because you’ve effectively transformed the energy of that difficult struggle into something else, something new and positive.

There’s a sense of things falling apart this week, but it’s really just emergence. Energy that was bound up in old stuff you don’t need anymore is transforming itself into something new. Even if you don’t know what it is, even if you’re not enjoying the confusion, the crisis, the disruption, you can move through each experience of obstruction with grace, because it is leading you somewhere.

Grieving the loss of the seed

If we want something new in our lives we have to let something else die. That’s just how things go. Our culture isn’t big on this idea and there is a lot of fear around it. If we go back to Indigenous knowledge, and to early feminine ways of being, we can see that this kind of letting go was ritualised, celebrated. In our westernised culture it is viewed with fear and avoided at all costs.

Ceres and Persephone have been transiting in gate 45, and previously were together in gate 35. In their mythology Ceres is rageful and grief stricken. In response to the loss of her daughter Persephone, she sends the world into famine. But this is not just a soap opera story about mothers and daughters. Persephone was the Kore, the seed maiden, the part of us that voluntarily goes into the dark places in order to shed our skin and discover in what form we will be reborn. In the bigger picture, Ceres isn’t raging about losing her daughter, but about the loss of the part of the life cycle that creates true change.

This week’s New Moon, in gates 24 and 44, bring a strong disruptive feminine influence that seems destructive, but is simply the Persephone archetype returning. What’s rigid and old will not withstand her dark power. Remember Saturn (old rigid structure) is still sitting in the gate of revolution (49, shedding your old skin, radical change).

Gate 24 is about spontaneous mutation, re-imagining of your life. It’s important that you don’t try to control this mutation energy, because if you do the old cultural conditioning of avoiding real deep change may have you missing the opportunity on offer.

Gate 44 is the feminine creative force triggering change. This is not your everyday kind of change, but something more mysterious, more seductive, calling you to a new life.

And while you may experience sudden shifts in understanding, this is not about escaping the life you have now, but returning to your core and finding a new trajectory. Mercury will spend most of this week in gate 8, with Sedna. Her story is all about trying to find the right people, and ending up finding her divine self.

A very Kaali initiation

The really fun stuff comes later in the week. On 1st May Venus moves into the Gate of Innocence. She is joined by Jupiter the next day. In this Channel of Initiation we make a leap from an identity that has kept us bound in old conditioning. There is a new collective impetus that supports us to separate from people and circumstances that aren’t aligned with this newly emerging self.

Kaali is there, the ancient Hindu Goddess, the most powerful form of Shakti - the dynamic forces that move through and shape the universe - and the personification of divine feminine creative power. She turns up this week to destroy anything that stands in the way of us finding our true creative role in the next stage of universal evolution. Kaali is the precursor to the seed maiden, we can’t gestate until we have sloughed off the old form.

Kaali represents cosmic timing. You should never give yourself a hard time for being 7 months pregnant, its not quite time yet! This is such an important message this week. The Individual Circuitry is the key to huge evolutionary shifts for humanity between now and 2025, and timing is key. Individual transformation has it's own cosmic timing. If you are trying to rush things (or hold them back) you are out of flow, and your are missing important creative opportunities. What is this moment asking you to engage with?

There’s something about self respect here. If we cannot find the people who share our goals and values, and who support our good efforts, we must go alone until we do. The last few years have been preparing us for this, healing the shame of aloneness, the trauma of isolation, the inability to reach out and connect. If we can’t find people who respect us, we must at least learn to respect ourselves by taking care of ourselves, by protecting ourselves, by holding true to ourselves.

This week brings a new kind of leadership to our world, one based in mutual respect and shared values. Ceres, Persephone and Kaali invite you to start with yourself, in the dark birthing spaces of your life own story.
